The Design:
Lorne has long been a favoured Holiday destination. With it’s beautiful beaches and Forests contained within a natural amphitheatre ensures that most homes have beautiful views.
Herniman’ Group brief was to take a tired looking beach house and transform it into a warm, sophisticated and inviting holiday home perfect for entertaining in all seasons. With the extensive use of glass, the free flying staircase into the Louvre void create a dramatic impact on arrival. Movement and light are all around.
Warm tones of crème and white stones, mixed with the specially limed floor again convey the occupant with a relaxed feeling. The maxim of simplicity has been employed when selecting furnishing and fittings; with the exception of the bright coloured carpet which are reminiscent of the bold impact of the sea, the sun, the beach and the surrounding trees.
